How to Get Started on the Maker's Diet: Step 2

Ok, so now that you've read the whole book, cover to cover, what do you do next?

Here's my second tip for starting the Maker's Diet:

#2 Tip for Getting Started on the Maker's Diet:

Commit to sticking it out for the whole 40 day experience.

I mean, really go in 100%. Don't pick and choose the parts of the program you "like" and leave out the rest. Don't do phase one for a few days, fall off the wagon for two weeks, and start over. Just plan beforehand that come hell or high water, no matter what is going on in your life, you will complete the 40 days.

Otherwise, your results will be sketchy, and then you'll loudly proclaim, "The Maker's Diet doesn't work!" I promise it won't work if you don't do it properly! : )

With that in mind, let's look at what you are committing to for 40 days.

The Maker's Diet is a three phase program, for a total of 40 days. The phases are two weeks each.

Phase one is designed to detox you and balance your insulin levels. (Most Americans' insulin levels are severely out of whack, it's all the coffee, fast food, soda and sugar)

Phase two is designed to bring your immune system and blood sugar to optimal levels.

Phase three is the lifetime maintenance phase- you just stay on this phase permanently.

With these factors in mind, it's REALLY worth it to go through all three phases. Don't skip ahead! The first two weeks are grueling, but they give amazing results! You really need to go through it- you will feel amazing after a couple weeks!

There is also a lot of weight loss that usually occurs as you detox. When I first did the Maker's Diet 5 years ago, I lost 20 lbs during the first few weeks. (I wasn't even wanting to lose weight.) I have a friend whose close friend went from a size 10 to a size 0 during the 40 days. (She was eating the typical Standard American Diet before)

So don't shortchange yourself! Go through ALL three phases, and follow the guidelines 100%. Make a commitment beforehand to do it. I promise you it will be well worth it!

Do you think it would be okay to do the 1st phase even when you're breast feeding?
